Om eventet
RACS is collaborating with the Rockbridge Symphony Orchestra to host a sensory friendly concert at Lexington Presbyterian Church on November 12th from 6-7pm! What is a sensory-friendly concert? I'm so glad you asked! It's a concert designed to meet the needs of individuals of all ages and sensory sensitivity needs and their families. This concert allows for more movement to foster a welcoming environment. Sensory friendly concerts are meant to make the concert experience accessible to individuals with sensory sensitivities including persons with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders. People of all ages are invited. There is no expectation that people sit silently during the performance. Individuals will be free to move around, hum or clap with the music, we will have items available that they can fidget with in their seats and there will also be a quiet room where we plan to live stream the performance onsite. We hope that people of all ages and abilities in our community will take advantage of this unique opportunity to enjoy a very casual and accessible symphony performance here in Lexington. Tickets will be available at the door: Children 12 and under are free Student tickets are $5 All other adults are $10
