Collaborating to Provide Coordinated Crisis Intervention to

Residents Experiencing Mental Health Crisis

Rockbridge & Bath Regional

Crisis Intervention Team (CIT)

The Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) is a program that works with the community, law enforcement, and the local hospitals to help educate and provide a fast and more therapeutic approach to those in crisis.  The Rockbridge and Bath Regional CIT Program holds Basic and Advanced classes aimed towards the various law enforcement agencies within this catchment, but also is open to all agencies across the State of Virginia.  This is because CIT has been modeled off the Essential Elements for the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Crisis Intervention Team Programs (CIT), which is governed by the Code of Virginia.  For additional reading please visit the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services website.
