A rewarding place to work
RACS offers rewarding career opportunities for highly motivated and caring individuals who seek to make a positive difference in the lives of others. As the Rockbridge/Bath area’s primary resource for human services in the arenas of mental health, substance use disorder, developmental disabilities, and prevention services, we help some of our community’s most vulnerable citizens. Every day, we work to make sure that people have the opportunity to work toward and sustain their own wellness.
RACS is committed to excellence in all we do, and to inclusivity, respect, and fairness. We seek to hire and retain employees who share our values – people who are passionate about providing the best possible care and who appreciate the diverse backgrounds and needs of the people we serve as well as our own workforce.
Beautiful location, vibrant community
Rockbridge and Bath Counties and the cities of Lexington and Buena Vista enjoy enchanting mountain and valley scenery with easy access to outdoor activities. In addition to natural beauty, our community offers vibrant culture, an eclectic food and beverage scene, and a deep sense of history and place. It is home to two nationally acclaimed institutions of higher education, Washington & Lee University and the Virginia Military Institute. Find out more at
Approved National Health Service Corps (NHSC) site
Because our area has a shortage of healthcare providers, the NHSC offers financial and other support, including scholarships and federal student loan repayment, to primary care clinicians who agree to work fulltime for RACS for two years. Eligible specialties include licensed clinical social workers, counselors, psychologists, psychiatric nurse specialists, marriage and family therapists, and licensed professional counselors.
