To enhance the quality of life for individuals with all forms of disabilities who choose to work by assisting them to seek, secure and maintain employment in the community

What is the Supported Employment Program?

  • Supported Employment is an employment program offering comprehensive assessments, readiness training, job placement, and follow along services to individuals with disabilities.

What Supported Employment Program Provides to the Employee:

  • Comprehensive assessments to help better match you to a career
  • Assistance with resume writing and interviewing techniques
  • Training in proven and helpful Tips for Success on the job
  • Job placement services
  • Comprehensive on the job training and coaching based on your individual need
  • Ongoing support and consultative services for as long as you are on the job
  • Assistance in understanding how working will effect your benefits

What Supported Employment Program Provides to the Employer:

  • Recruitment assistance
  • Pre-screened applicants
  • Immediate response and follow-up
  • Education in managing a diverse workforce
  • Reliable workers for high turnover jobs
  • Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC)
  • Free personalized training and support services
  • Ongoing support and consultation

Models of Employment Offered Through Supported Employment Services

  • Individual Placements
    A model of employment in which supported employment staff assists an individual to seek, secure and maintain competitive employment. Individuals served through this model have demonstrated job readiness skills and can work independently with initial on the job training and follow-along support.
  • Enclaves
    A group model of employment in which Supported Employment staff assists an individual to seek, secure and maintain competitive employment within one of the available enclave sites. In an enclave model of employment there is a Supported Employment supervisor onsite throughout the employee’s entire shift to provide ongoing job training and support.

Hours of Operation:

The Supported Employment office is located in Lexington and is open Monday through Friday 8:30 to 5:00
