Description of Program Services
Individual, Family, and Group Counseling: Individual, family, and group counseling is provided in an outpatient setting. Therapists conduct a thorough clinical assessment of the child and family focusing on areas that are identified in need of change. Together, the therapist and the family design a treatment plan to address the family’s identified goals. The philosophy of the program is a family systems approach that looks at the child within the family unit and focuses intervention strategies on both the child and the family. Therapists offer assistance to children and their families in the areas of behavioral health issues, substance abuse, anger management, parenting skills, and school related problems to name a few. Therapists can design a specialized treatment plan that addresses needs at home, school, work, and in the community.
Case Management: Case Management services are designed to assist the child and family in evaluating and accessing identified treatment needs. The case manager assists in identifying needs and linking the family to services to address their needs. The case manager is in charge of maintaining contact with the child and the family, monitoring the child’s progress, evaluating the effectiveness of services being provided, and helping to determine if additional services would be beneficial.
Psychiatric Services: Psychiatric services are provided to children and adolescents who are assessed as being in-need of outpatient psychiatric care. A Board certified psychiatrist assesses the child and the family in order to determine appropriate psychiatric care and follow-up, including medication management. These services may be provided in conjunction with other RACS services.

Intensive In-Home Services: Intensive in-home therapy is a home-based treatment model that provided services to families who are at risk of having a child removed from the home, who have a child returning to the home from a hospital or residential setting, or who have a child who has not positively progressed in treatment using outpatient therapy interventions. The philosophy of the program is that a child’s emotional and behavioral needs can be addressed more effectively when the child remains in the home. Our treatment providers assess the family system as a whole and provide “hands on” family interventions directly in the same environment where the child lives and grows. Services are provided to the family at least three hours a week for up to six months. This level of intensity provides the treatment provider a solid appreciation and understanding of the child and family, contributing to positive change and helping the child remain in the home.
Child and Adolescent Day Program: The Child and Adolescent Day Program (CADP) provides In-School and Summer services. The In-School program (currently available in three schools) is designed to improve the student’s adjustment and success in the school environment. Under the directions of a licensed provider, a qualified mental health professional provides individual and group activities for students enrolled in the program. These activities may include individual and group counseling, psycho-educational demonstrations, coaching, conflict mediation, and positive peer socialization. The Summer program is designed to help the child develop social skills in the areas of communication, anger management, conflict resolution, cooperation, and problem solving through the use of various indoor and outdoor activities. The Summer program meets daily and children are placed in groups based on their maturity level and their age. Providers of the Summer program are supervised by a licensed treatment provider.
