Rockbridge Area Community Services seeks applicants for:

Residential Support Staff

Salary: up to $23K DOQ

RACS is currently seeking motivated, qualified individuals to work in one of our area residential group homes located in Rockbridge and Bath Counties.  RACS will provide training, supervision and education opportunities specific to the position.

DUTIES: Requires direct care assistance to individuals in group home settings serving adults with intellectual disabilities. Essential functions of the position include providing supervision/assistance/training in daily living skills; requires assistance with recreational opportunities, daily documentation, administration/monitoring of medications, light housekeeping and the use of a personal computer.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum one year experience with adults with intellectual disabilities; strong computer and organizational skills are preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required; must be willing to work weekend and holiday hours; must be physically able to assist adults and lift up to 50 lbs. Requires current/valid Virginia Driver’s License and must maintain a safe driving record per RACS Policy.

Healthy Communities Action Team - (HCAT) Coordinator

(Part-Time/Contract Position – under 20 hours /week)

Anticipated Start date is July 1, 2014 and ends June 30, 2016

 

DUTIES: Serves as a member of the Rockbridge Area Community Services Prevention Team; responsible for the implementation of the Healthy Communities Action Team (HCAT) grant from Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth; collaborates with several key Community Action Team partner organizations to carry out obesity prevention events, activities, and other initiatives outlined in the grant action plan; responsible for mobilizing key member groups to carry out initiatives, build capacity of the HCAT, act as liaison between RACS Prevention Services and organizations to implement youth fitness programs, coordinate youth nutrition projects and work to improve community food access with Students in Rockbridge Promoting Healthy Alternatives; works closely with Rockbridge Area Prevention Coalition Facilitator on strategic planning and sustainability planning for the HCAT; remains informed of new and available resources and initiatives relating to  improved food access, nutrition and fitness promotion, is accountable to the annual goals and objectives that guide the programs, fulfills obligations to Prevention Services database reporting within RACS, is accurate in securing data needed for program evaluation, and keeps program materials ordered as needed; will work with prevention manager for grant reporting requirements.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Possession of Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field or a related field from an accredited college or university is required; experience working with youth or in related prevention field preferred; Microsoft Office skills are essential; must have excellent people skills and abundance of energy and enthusiasm for the topic of childhood nutrition and fitness; professional communication skills are essential; required to exercise sound judgment to implement programs; be able to work both independently and as a team member; and maintain confidentiality. 

Emergency Services Clinician

Part-Time

 

Seeking a clinician to provide crisis intervention services for individuals and families experiencing mental health and substance abuse crises for Rockbridge and Bath Counties. 

DUTIES Provide mental health and substance abuse emergency services for individuals of all ages; complete pre-admission screenings, facilitate hospital admissions and discharges; provide out-patient assessments, crisis intervention, and crisis case management services when needed; provide motivational therapy or DBT modalities to individuals and families in crisis, and attend commitment hearings and assist with MOT clients.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree in human services related field, mental health and/or substance abuse experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience including BSN RN’s with Psychiatric Nursing experience in outpatient or inpatient settings.  Extensive knowledge of the DSM, mental health and substance abuse assessments, treatment, crisis assessment and intervention strategies for clients of all ages; must be certified or eligible to be certified as a pre-screener by the CSB and Virginia DMHMRSAS. Supported Employment Job Coach

DUTIES:  Responsible for structured employment training programs at various work sites, provide direct oversight of individuals and groups and initiate specific skill training to participants; coordinate/provide transportation services when necessary;  responsible for documentation, including progress notes and timecard entry.

QUALIFICATIONS:  High School Diploma or equivalent and two years’ experience in a human services field; must be able to work independently with normal supervision; exercise sound judgment; possess excellent skills in problem solving/motivational techniques; must be able to work collaboratively with other team members and observe professional standards of confidentiality; position requires some flexibility in work scheduling; must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record per RACS policy.

Day Support Professional

Salary: up to $24K depending on qualifications

DUTIES: Responsible for training intellectually disabled adults in activities of daily living, community integration, communication and prevocational skills; administer medications, complete documentation and drive agency vehicles.            

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Two-year degree in Human Services or equivalent experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities, and excellent communication, computer, documentation and organizational skills.  Must be energetic, positive, enthusiastic and able to solve routine problems and adapt well to change.  Theatrical experience a plus; must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record per RACS policy.

Outpatient Clinician

Seeking clinicians to work on a multidisciplinary team to provide mental health and substance abuse treatment for individuals and/or families who have mental health and/or substance abuse concerns at our Lexington and Bath County clinics.  Positions available include those working with children, adolescent and adult populations. 

DUTIES: Provide comprehensive mental health and substance abuse services as well as assist in coordinating treatment with a multidisciplinary treatment team as indicated. Maintain proper documentation for individuals and families seeking mental health and/or substance abuse services.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Applicants should have extensive knowledge of mental health and substance abuse assessments, mental health and substance abuse treatment, as well as crisis assessment and intervention strategies for clients of all ages. Applicants must be licensed as a LCSW, LPC, or LCP in the Commonwealth of Virginia. LCSW preferred. Applicants must include a copy of unofficial transcript(s) with employment application.

Intellectual Disability Support Coordinator

DUTIES:  Responsible for providing ongoing ID Support Coordination to adults and children within the catchment area of Rockbridge Area Community Services. Services include but are not limited to: monitoring services, referrals to other agencies/services, assessments and the completions of required documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS: Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the human services field, or a Licensed RN in VA; plus one year of documented experience working directly with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Knowledge and ability with Electronic Health Records and web based program a plus.  Valid driver's license and safe driving required.
